Brisk

Brisk is a 90’s rock and alternative band based out of Fredericksburg, VA. The band consists of Eddie Dickerson on fiddle, Jon Wiley on guitar, Brian “Piper” Barbre on drums/percussion, Tracy Darensbourg on upright/electric bass, and Mark Euker on vocals and acoustic guitar.

Having played together for over a year, Brisk has made their name by curating an expansive repertoire of popular hits as well as deeper cut tracks from some of the most iconic and influential 90’s bands. However, it’s their unique arrangement of instruments that simultaneously take us back in time and make us stop and stare at the artistry occurring in real time that has stirred up quite a buzz all throughout NOVA.

Starting Early Plays The Renegade

Since 2014, Starting Early has been performing shows all around the DMV area. The trio is made up of brothers Rory and Declan O'Donnell on guitar, along with Paul Mosimann on percussion. Covering a wide variety of classic hits while infusing their original rock sound, Starting Early provides a powerful live performance to fans of all ages.

Drawing inspiration from guitarists such as Harrison and Clapton, Rory crafted Starting Early's vintage sound while incorporating his love for 90s and early 2000s music. Sharing musical interests with Rory, Paul joined and the two easily collaborated on songs together and created a foundation for the band. Drawing from both classic rock and punk rock drummers, Paul brings a powerful and driving sound to the stage and studio alike. Declan joined Starting Early in 2019 as the bassist and vocalist. Being the younger brother of Rory, Declan O’Donnell derived many of the same influences in rock and pop which he carries into his songwriting.

Parker Barrow Plays The Renegade

Parker Barrow is a Southern Rock / Country Grunge Band based out of the City of Music – Nashville Tennessee.  The duo of Drummer/Songwriter Dylan Turner and Front Woman Extraordinaire, Megan Kane. The duo is much like their name’s sake in the sense of being on the run; but unlike the original Partners in Crime Turner and Kane are on the run towards a dream rather than from the law. The couple intends to bring you on the journey with their eccentric mix of emotive song lyrics and eclectic melodies that are reminiscent of the powerhouse Southern Rock era of days gone by.  Kane and Turner’s backgrounds in Rock, Blues, Soul and Country make their brand of music unmistakably unique and distinctively their own.

Turner, originally from La Plata, Maryland migrated to Nashville in early 2018 in pursuit of a new project that would concentrate on the tones, sounds and vibes of the music he was raised on but tell the stories that the country music genre is known for. After a year of grinding on Nashville’s famed Broadway scene and experimenting with different line ups substantial roots were developed and the band began to blossom fully after a chance encounter with Kane a native of Birmingham, Alabama and relative newcomer to Nashville at the time. Kane had moved to town for a change of pace and a stage to sing on.  She quickly found herself living the van life and touring the east coast with Turner, cutting her teeth on the road.  Kane brings the southern flare with her undeniable vocal dominance and absolutely electric live performances.  With sights set on staking a claim as a female force is the Southern Rock game, Kane sings and screams her heart out each time she takes the stage and each time it’s an experience that you would not want to miss.  After the release of their debut EP “Don’t Tell Mama”, which reached number 4 on the Country Music ITunes Charts and Number 21 in All Genres, the duo decided to live and tour out of their 32ft RV with their Road Dog, Sadie Mae. They keep “Rolling with the punches and Rockin’ all night long”.  These two “Juke Box Gypsy’s” have been at it ever since.

It is apparent to all that have seen the couple preform that Turner and Kane share a true vision, sincere passion, appetite and appreciation for life on the road and the live performance genre.  The duo places high value on their Faith, their relationship through music and Faith and their families. The couple are truly kindred in spirit and will be tying the knot this spring and are excited to continue creating and preforming together in this next chapter of life.  From their intimate acoustic sets to powerful high energy full band shows it is apparent that Kane and Turner are exactly where they want to be.

Heavily influenced by the Black Crows, The Allman Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Whiskey Myers, the band loves to jam and includes an infusion of the blues with every arrangement.  This down to earth band flies high on stage and works hard to take you along on the flight.

Turner and Kane are currently in the studio working on their debut full length studio record with Producer Stephen McKnight of Thermal Productions in New Jersey.  The duo is expecting a fall release date for the record and are excited to show the world a new side of themselves!

Lights Out By 8 at The Renegad

Lights Out By 8 is a 5-member band from the DC/Northern Virginia area that covers your favorite pop and rock hits. Known for their engaging stage presence and energetic performance, Lights Out is well-versed in - and available for - both public and private events.

With humble beginnings in the birthplace of all great bands - a basement - our group would frequently extend practices into the late evening. Inevitably, one of Nick's roommates requested a "lights out" policy moving forward, where all auxiliary noise would be turned off by 8pm.

Just like that, Lights Out By 8 was born.

Chute

Chute

Chute is an alternative rock band from Washington DC. The band fuses together elements of classic rock, grunge, punk rock, and heavy metal to achieve their exciting sound. Released in the fall of 2011, the band's critically acclaimed debut album "Crooked Doses of Happiness" was heralded for combining pop sensibilities with crunchy riffs, powerful vocals, and hard driving rhythms.

The last eight years have been eventful to say the least. Despite some shuffling of the lineup, the band has kept up it's profile by playing all over the East Coast, including appearances at the Celebrate Fairfax Festival along side such renowned acts as Cheap Trick & Everclear, performing regularly at Union Jacks, most recently sharing the stage with the 90's rockstars Lit, and rocking out at other various venues throughout the DMV.

Chute just released their latest EP, released in the Fall of 2019. "It's taken us a while to get the new material together. We had a few false starts, but we are really excited for the fans to hear the new tunes. The wait is definitely worth it!", says vocalist Ben Bargman. Continues drummer Alex Vakhlis, "We've grown as musicians and people since the first record, and I think the music reflects that. The new songs are a natural progression. There's a real balance between stuff that's a little darker, to tunes that have some great melodies and really groove. I can't wait for the fans to hear these songs!"

The band has big plans for 2022, including shows all over the East Coast in support of their new EP "Perfect Designs", shooting another music video, and more festival appearances. Stay tuned!
